Daisy founding story: Transforming a broken industry

What if your apartment building wasn't just a place to live, but a thriving community? This question lies at the heart of Daisy's origin, a journey that began with our CEO and Co-founder, Yotam Cohen's contrasting experiences in two very different apartment buildings.

In his first building, life was a dream. Neighbors weren't just faces in the hallway - they were friends who trusted one another, exchanged spare keys, and even shared internet connections. The sense of community made everyday life not just easy, but enriching.

Then came a move prompted by a growing family. On paper, the new building seemed perfect - bigger, newer, loaded with amenities. The reality? A stark contrast. Neighborly disputes were the norm, the elevator seemed perpetually out of order, and getting anything done was an exercise in frustration. Determined to make a difference, Yotam joined the building's board, a decision that would change everything.

His time on the board was a revelation - and not in a good way. Yotam was shocked to uncover a world of outdated practices, inefficient systems, and a glaring lack of transparency and communication. After speaking with other board members in other buildings he realized this wasn't an isolated issue. The entire property management industry seemed fundamentally broken.

This realization sparked a pivotal question: Why are our homes - one of the most important assets in our lives - so often managed with such a lack of care and attention to the people living in them?

Motivated by this disconnect, Yotam got together with Nir Hemed, and the two of them began envisioning a revolutionary approach to property management. They imagined a system that not only maintained buildings efficiently but also fostered the kind of positive community he had experienced in his first apartment. A system built on technology and human care to create transparency, trust, and positivity.

This vision led to the founding of Daisy. Our mission became clear: to improve the way people live by transforming the way buildings run. Because we’re managing more than just buildings. We’re managing people’s homes.

At Daisy, we believe by focusing on both the physical space and the people within it, we can create something truly special – healthier, well-run buildings and an improved quality of life for everyone involved. Join us in reimagining what the future of building life can be.
